: FAQ
Q. Why can't I see any of your graphics?
A. It's probably because this is a Friends Only Graphics Journal. Add me onto your Friends List, then comment on the 'Friends Only' post. I will add you without a question if you follow the directions.
Q. I want to use one of your graphics. What should I do?
A. All you have to do is comment on the post which contains that graphic(s), and you're all set! You do not need to ask me...I wouldn't offer them if I didn't want them to be taken.
Q. Can I edit your graphics?
A. Headers and Friends Only signs: No.
Icons: Yes.
I spend lots and lots of time on the blends for my Headers and Friends Only signs, and would appreciate it if you did not take them and add your touches to them. They are mine and should reflect my style.
However, most of my icons are bases, so you may add your username or a quote or something of the sort to those.
Q. Do you customize?
A. I try! If you can give me the graphic you want customized (must be a graphic that I have made), plus a list of very detailed instructions (including font names, quotes/lyrics, color schemes, etc.) that you want me to follow, I can definitely customize a graphic for your use. You would, of course, have to credit me. :)
Q. How do I upload an icon, and how do credit you for it? What are keywords?
A. Save the icon you want in an easy place to remember. Then, click Manage >> User Pictures. Scroll down, and make sure you click the little circle next to 'Upload from my Computer'. Click Browse, and find that file. Once you find it, click 'Open'. Then click 'Upload'. If you want that icon to be your default icon (which means it will show up on each of your posts), make sure you check that box while uploading it.
Then, once you have uploaded it, look under that icon where it says 'Keywords'. Keywords are what your icon is identified by, and you can 'name' your icon anything you want in this spot. After that name, you must put "pixelitis" or "made by pixelitis" in parentheses, so that anyone looking at it will know it was created by me.
Q. How do you use a small font, and how do you put a border around it?
A. (These directions are meant for PSP)
When you use all small fonts, disable the Stroke color and only use the Fill color. The Fill color is what the writing itself will show up to be.
The black border takes a little bit more work, but here are the steps to achieve that:
1. Get your font put on the icon. Once you click 'OK' and the font has appeared, you may move it around but DO NOT right click on the image itself. You need to have that square thing that allows you to move it around.
2. Click Selections >> From Vector Object.
3. Click Selections >> Modify >> Expand >> Set this to 1, unless you want it to be larger (1 looks the best).
4. Now, switch to the layer below this text layer. Add New Raster Layer (all the while keeping the selection in tact).
5. Fill this area with whatever color you would like the border to be.
Q. How do I make my icons have the glowing, soft effect that you use?
A. (These directions are meant for PSP)
1. Get your avatar to the size you want it to be. Make sure there are NO accents on it as of now (text, a border, etc.).
2. Click Effects >> Enhance Photo >> Automatic Contrast Enhancement
Play with the settings to fit your image. I normally use 'Lighter', 'Normal', and 'Natural'.
3. Click Colors >> Adjust >> Highlight/Midtone/Shadow.
Again, play with the settings a bit. I keep mine at 5 (shadow), 37 (midtone), and 63 (highlight), with a Linear Adjustment Method.
4. Click Effects >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur
I normally set this to about 3.00, however, anything from 2.00 to 3.00 will probably work fine.
5. Copy what you have done.
6. Use the 'Undo' option to undo all of the above, leaving your original, resized avatar.
7. Paste what you have copied as a New Raster Layer.
8. Click View >> Toolbars. Check the box next to "Layer Palette," if it hasn't already been checked.
9. Make the blend for the upper layer "Soft Light".
: The Art (Disclaimer)
These graphics are property of me. You may not take them and claim they are yours, and you also may not comment here, harassing me of stealing someone else's idea. I would never do that to another artist, and it is an insult that you would even bring it up. My work is 100% from my own creativity and imagination, and no comments posted claiming otherwise will be accepted.
I promise you all that will not make any graphics that contain political opinions, violence, or explicit images. However, if you still are not happy with any of my graphics, you are free to leave. I cannot please everyone, and have come to grips with that. If you have a problem with anything posted on here, just click that little 'X' on the right corner of the page.
